Websites your kids will love (that won’t make parents cringe)

Updated: Sep 3, 2021

I have three children – all boys – ages 6, 8 and 11. Much like many of you during this stay-at-home order, I’ve been scouring the web to find good resources for my kids that keep them interested, make them happy, and make me feel like they’re maybe, just maybe, learning *something* educational. It is a struggle, and some of the lists I’ve seen for resources are COMPLETELY overwhelming for me, so even though I'm sure those 100-rows-per-page files have lots of great info, I couldn't even get past the first five on the list. <sigh>

However, I have (luckily) stumbled across a few things since then that have been home-runs for my kids, and since I’m doing the research anyway, I might as well share it. Maybe my list will spark some interest for your kiddos, as well. One of my favorite resources for new ideas lately has come from my local Denver 9News morning show. Other sites have been recommended by schools and friends. And a few were actually pop-up ads on Facebook, based off of my recent views. I don’t care where they come from, as long as they’re easy-to-use, clean, and age-appropriate (oh, and preferably free).
